About Me

Hi, I'm Bess (she/her) and I'm an Actor and  Fight & Intimacy Director based in DC. While I started my work in the arts performing onstage, I quickly fell in love with physical story telling and have been choreographing stories of love and violence since 2018. I believe theatrical performances should be physically bold: "suit the action to the word, the word to the action" to quote a famous playwright.

I am also an educator. As a Certified Teacher with the Society of American Fight Directors, I teach stage combat in the DC region and at different national workshops. I serve on staff at STC's Academy MFA Program as the Assistant Stage Combat Instructor and

Theatrical Intimacy Educator.
